Ten years ago, September 9, 1998, died Lucio Battisti . Needless to tell who he was, or what has been important for Italian music.
As far as I'm concerned I've never been a big fan of his work and I must admit that apart from 2 or 3 superclass do not even know his songs.
Probably because of my age, being quite "boy" when I listened to music he had already stopped making it.
With this post so I put it through a anecdote that told me recently.
few weeks ago because I got to meet Mara Maionchi (important record producer) in which between a chat and the other on the current X-Factor, we ended up talking about Lucio Battisti, which she obviously knew and went to Milan in those years ..
So told me about a day when they were together at supermarket to do the shopping. At one point a couple of girls approached them and tells Lucio: "But you're Lucio Battisti?".
And he, promptly and without hesitation replied: "Maybe."
And the two have moved away .. a bit 'disappointed .. a bit 'dubious. Lucio
This was a great artist but decided one day to deny his audience (leaving the scene and almost no more singing) and disappear from the spotlight. Full
right to do so, but if I was a fan of his, I would not ever forgive him.
