kiosk is located in a new series dedicated to the DeAgostini good Sean Connery : a collection of movies from the good Scottish actor. The first issue, on newsstands these days, the film contains " Hunt for Red October", directed by John Mc Tiernan 1990.
The film is set in the Cold War, in 1984, before the advent of Gorbachev and is based on a book by Tom Clancy, tells the story of the most skillful of the USSR submarine captain, Marko Ramius (played by Sean Connery) violation of orders received that takes possession of most powerful submarine fleet, Red October indeed.
A very beautiful film with a story whose power increases continuously and played by great actors. Besides Connery Alec Baldwin are in fact ( Beetlejuice, The Departed), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show), James Earl Jones (Coming to America, Star Wars), Jeffrey Jones (he too was in Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow ) and many others.
Artistically speaking, it is really a great film.
In contrast, in this edition DVD leaves much to be desired .
The extras are non-existent (only a trailer) and video quality for the film verges on failure very dirty and full of grain, ill-defined and obvious compression.
The audio is finally well with low quality and low volume.
Would not it be just to buy, but for € 4.99 there can not be satisfied and to see a good movie .. waiting for the Paramount decides to make an issue worthy of the title, perhaps in BluRay .
PS: For fans of the series Star Trek TNG's , I note the brief appearance of the actress Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher interpreter) at the beginning of the film in the role of wife Baldwin's character.
